E-voting, Information Gap, and The Digital Divide in Zimbabwe

The objective of this research was to establish if Zimbabwe has the potential and Information Communication Technology (ICT) capacity implement e-voting methods in country's often discredited electoral process. study adopted qualitative secondary data collected from relevant reports, questionnaires randomly distributed general populace as well interviews with Electoral Commission (ZEC) Postal Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (POTRAZ) officials. paper highlights global national status ICT adoption which is key driver successful implementation e-voting, internet coverage, use country. also investigated how citizens diaspora, through new Internet platforms, can exercise their right participate political discourse vote using model. findings indicate that though it be done, not being practiced. Hence diaspora are excluded give credence suggesting sufficient infrastructure a trial selected local government elections.
